Is luxury vinyl flooring durable?

Is luxury vinyl flooring durable?

At Kanter?s Carpet and Design Center, we can answer that question. The fact is, luxury vinyl has proven to be one of the most durable floors on the market today. It resists stains, scratches, scuffs, and spills. Unfortunately, however, it doesn't look like its great appearance.

Durability

Luxury vinyl usually comes with a 25-30 year warranty on it. It has proven to be one of the best bathrooms, laundry rooms, and kitchens. It is rugged and waterproof, so you?ll be able to put it in your home and have peace of mind.

Characteristics

Luxury vinyl flooring has two formats: tiles and planks. Luxury vinyl planks (LVP) and luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) are made from the same material; they come in different forms. LVF is easy to clean and maintain and very durable. Maintenance consists of light sweeping and or light mopping to keep them clean. The flooring core is usually 8 millimeters thick, but if you want a longer-lasting floor, ask for 20 millimeters. This will add to the lifespan of your floor. The top layer of LVF is a melamine coating that resists scuffs and scratches.

Waterproof

LVF is also completely waterproof due to the construction material, PVC. PVC is a standard construction material that is entirely waterproof. Therefore, it is used everywhere in construction.

Appearance

The imaging layer, or design layer, can mimic any image. LVP can mimic any wood look: cherry, walnut, oak, or ash. With LVT, it mimics any stone, from ceramic to brickwork, to granite. It can also simulate a wood look. Be assured that you can get many images for your luxury vinyl flooring.
